
Amy Biniares
Amy is a screen composer based in Sydney. Graduating from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with First Class Honours, Amy has experience with a broad range of styles and ensembles, but particular interest in orchestral composition. She has experience composing for short films in the genres of drama, thriller, comedy, and children’s animation.

Some of Amy’s notable compositional influences include Hans Zimmer, Alexandre Desplat, Michael Giacchino, and Danny Elfman. Her compositional focus is in music's power to be emotionally evocative and its crucial role in storytelling. This inspired her Honours thesis about narrative film music, using the Harry Potter series as a case study of how music shapes narrative.

Outside of composition, Amy is a guitarist with particular interest in flamenco and classical styles. She is also an educator of Secondary Music, and has taught over 100 private students in guitar, piano, percussion, composition, and musicology.
